- Connect the tool to a person, company, vehicle, kit or jobsite. The current holder stays visible on the record and in the inventory list.
- Can it be used now?
- Separate available, in-use, under-maintenance, out-of-service, lost and damaged equipment before sending it to another project.
A living inventory, not a frozen spreadsheet
The overview brings together search, categories, conditions, locations, holders and the latest detection. The crew can work from a view grouped by tool model or open the detailed view to compare every unit, serial number and availability.
When a drill is scanned at a jobsite, a saw is detected near an Allokit gateway or a trailer goes into maintenance, that information reaches the same inventory. The office and the field see the same version of reality.
Every tool keeps its identity and context
Two saws of the same model are not necessarily in the same place or condition. Allokit separates the equipment model from its real units so every asset keeps its own information.

The right level of tracking for every type of tool
Not every asset needs the same technology. A QR code fits deliberate actions such as a handoff, return or jobsite change. A Bluetooth tracker automatically detects equipment near a gateway. A GPS device reports the position of mobile or higher-value equipment.
These sources do not create three inventories: they feed the same Allokit record. A tool can also keep its QR code while using Bluetooth or GPS when its value and mobility justify it.

Inventory describes what the company owns. Tracking adds the events each asset goes through: checkout, return, transfer, scan, detection, holder change, maintenance or loss.
Can I import an Excel inventory into Allokit?
Yes. Your inventory can be structured from the data you already have, then enriched with the categories, models, serial numbers, locations, responsible people and jobsites your company needs.
Does every tool need a GPS tracker?
No. A QR code is often enough when a tool changes holder or jobsite during a known action. Bluetooth fits mobile tools that should be detected near a gateway, while GPS is reserved for equipment that needs an independent position.
How do I know who is using a tool?
The record shows the current holder and keeps checkouts, returns and transfers in its history. Depending on the process, the holder can be a person, company, vehicle, kit, place or jobsite.
Can I manage tool kits and job boxes?
Yes. Several tools can be grouped into a kit or job box. The container can move, be loaned or be assigned as one unit while every tool keeps its individual record.
Does the inventory include maintenance?
Yes. An asset record can bring together maintenance requests, service work, documents and history. Its condition quickly separates available equipment from equipment under maintenance or out of service.
